First thing first. What is in your mind when I mentioned 'Korean'?
Perhaps, Kimchi (if you are a food lover), Winter Sonata or Dae Jang Geum (if you are Korean TV Drama lover), or even Park Ji-Sung (if you are a football lover) ... but, if you are a avid fan of non-verbal performance together with free rhythmical movement, Nanta Cooking should be among the Korean thingy in your mind.
Back to 2005, when I heard that Nanta Cooking is coming to Genting Highlands, I was completedly enthralled!! I drove all the way from Penang to Genting and back to Penang in a day trip, just to watch the show. It was tiring, but it's definitely well worth it!
Then, early this year, I saw the advertisement stating that another Korean B-Boy show will be coming to town. I felt nostalgic again, but this time, I will need not to drive all the way to KL. Thanks to KTO (Korea Tourism Organization) and LG, they bring the show to Penang.
With little idea except that I know it's going to be something related prisoners escape, I just went to watch the show. And I just loved the surprise comedy-elements!!
5 jail-breakers; consisting of a joker,a pervert, a macho, an old man and a dreamer, never thought of escaping until fate comes to them. It is a 'magical books' (something like the kryptonite) fallen from the sky and turn anyone who hold it into amazing dancer or even a beatboxer!! And the rest of the storyline, is predictable. They managed to escape ... from digging up tunnel, to hospital, to church ... and finally escape to the beach!!
Paying up RM63 for such incredible, energetic, flawless stunt and hilarious story, it's simply get my money's worth.
Looking forward for another such shows in future. 'Jeng' ...
(Even the famous 'Vitruvian Man' is transform into HipHop)
(A church scene with some 'awesome' and 'yeah' nuns)
(great show from all the dancing crews and performers)
